Door Material Details – Cutting Edge Narrow Framed Matte Black, Shaker, and Contemporary Slab:
Narrow Edge and Shaker Fronts are composed of 100% recycled PET film formed under heat and pressure by pressing the PET film over a routed substrate to a routed MDF panel.
Slab (matte Gray & White) is composed of 100% recycled PET film applied over an MDF panel and banded with matching edge banding.
Slab (gloss white) is PET but is NOT 100% recycled product. This is applied over an MDF panel and banded with matching edge banding.
The recycled PET film (matte colors only) is made entirely from recycled water bottles. Bottles are selected, cleaned, and eliminated of metals, labels, and caps. The bottles are processed to obtain flakes of PET and then extruded into a sheet of material which is formed to a panel of MDF. About 25 bottles are reused and recycled to create one medium sized door. This process reduces waste, uses no fossil fuels, and creates about 60% fewer polluting emissions compared to newly manufactured PET.
Door Material Details – Horizon Woodgrain:
Horizon is a TSS textured laminate door over a particleboard core.
Thermal Structured Surface (TSS) is specially designed papers replicating various wood grain patterns and colorings are thermally bonded to a particleboard substrate. These materials are made using heat and pressure with colors and textures originating from steel plates or drums that apply pressure and create textures pressed into the top color and underlying core materials.
Grain is only available in a horizontal configuration with the edge banding running vertically along the length of the door – see samples for details.
The core material is particleboard and is TSCA Title VI compliant.
